Your rights as an applicant
ScreeningOS Technologies, Inc. prepares consumer reports used in housing, employment, and rental decisions. Federal and state law give you specific rights over that information.
Request a copy of your file
You may request a copy of the consumer report prepared about you. Identity verification is required before any file is released. Reports are provided at no charge when requested within 60 days of an adverse action notice.
Dispute inaccurate or incomplete information
If any item is inaccurate or incomplete, you may open a dispute. We reinvestigate the item, contact the original source, and provide written results — normally within 30 days of receiving the dispute.
Adverse action
If a housing, employment, or rental decision is based in whole or in part on a screening report, you must receive a pre-adverse action notice with a copy of the report and a summary of rights, a reasonable waiting period to respond, and a final adverse action notice.
Add a statement to your file
If a dispute is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may submit a brief written statement describing the disagreement. It is retained with your file and included in future reports containing the disputed item.
State-specific rights
Several states grant additional rights, including expanded free file access, restrictions on reportable records, and shorter reinvestigation windows. State rules are applied automatically to reports issued for that jurisdiction.
